Ticket Applet, the next generation (under new management)
Notice: I haven't had a chance to work on ticket applet in a
very long time, in part because I don't "live" in a kerberos
environment anymore. However, Charles Duffy has gone ahead and made a
gnome2 port of ticket applet, which you can find here. I'm
sure it's much better than my original, since he's giving it the TLC I
could not. I'll leave this page up for the time being anyway.
ticket_applet is an applet for the GNOME panel which display
how much time you have left on your kerberos tickets. It also allows
you to renew the tickets; you click on the applet, and it will pop up
a password dialog. It now has support for renewing your afs tokens and
can run arbitrary commands that you specify after ticket renewal. For
instance, I have it run the command "zctl load" after I renew my kerberos
tickets so that I will be reauthenticated for zephyr.
Here is screenshot. Pretty, isn't it?
The configuration process could still use a little work. I'm not sure
how well it would work if you did not have a setup similar to mine,
but it shouldn't cause too many problems.
- Kerberos 5 (1.2.x for the RPM)
- GNOME
- arla and krbafs (for the RPM; you should be able to rebuild from
source without support for these)
- 0.2.2 (Sept. 6, 2000) Added error dialogs. misc fixes
- 0.2.1 (Sept. 3, 2000) Added ability to run user-specified
commands after ticket renewal.
- 0.2 (around Aug. 25) Completely rewritten in C. Now doesn't
depend on parsing the output of another program, since it uses the
kerberos API directly.
- 0.1 (around Aug. 20) First version, written in Python. Parses
output of klist.
